Hitchhiking and carpooling using your cellphone
An effective way to reduce fuel consumption and CO2 exhaust

More people in a car = less cars = less pollution = lower costs!
And it looks that fuel will be more and more expensive!
By using GPS-Carpool it is possible to ad-hoc (where and whenever you like) get
yourself in touch with a driver or passenger!
Suppose you are in Amsterdam and you want to go to Berlin. Just step out, get your PDA, type your destination and
wait for about 10 minutes before a car stops and invites you to step in! That's what GPS-Carpool is all about!
Have a modern cellphone with a built-in GPS-receiver and access to the internet:
a PDA, Pocket PC, SmartPhone.
An internet server collects this data, compares it with data from other users and sends back the results to the PDA. Now passenger and driver are aware of eachothers presence and can get connected.
With a program, suitable on devices that have a GPS-receiver and internet connectivity,
the former is possible.
Please check the download-section for available programs for your device.
